Colorado: A Pretty Place With Bold Taste

As a native of Colorado, it really baffles me just how much the state has grown up in the last several years. During my time in France everyone would ask me where I was from. When I told them I came from Colorado, they would all snicker and say "Oh, like Doctor Quinn!" I can tell you that the Colorado of today is extremely different from the world of Doctor Quinn, Medicine Woman. Since the millennium the state's population has increased by over 750,000. Once recognized for our vast expanses of land, these are rapidly becoming a sight of the past, but I suppose we can only blame ourselves for this. Colorado has become a highly captivating place to start a life. Louisville, Colorado was labeled the best place to live in Money Magazine's top 100 list for 2011. Apart from Louisville, four other Colorado towns made the list. Quite remarkable, huh? I imagine if we would stop becoming recognized for these types of things we wouldn't have so many newcomers from far and wide. But who wouldn't love looking outside to a spectacular rocky mountain backdrop every single morning? Not only are our towns gaining acknowledgement for the quality of life they provide to their inhabitants, but Colorado is home to many respected businesses. One industry that we are particularly fond of here at Baskets By Rita is the gourmet food industry. Not only is Colorado acknowledged for big restaurants including Old Chicago, Chipotle, Noodles & Company, Quizno's, and Good Times, but Colorado is also home to various premium food producers as well. At Baskets By Rita we carry products from Colorado companies such as Bhakti Chai, Bobo's Oat Bars, Celestial Seasonings, Chocolove, and Boulder Natural Foods, all of which are based in Boulder, Colorado. It seems as though there's something about Boulder that compels people to create health inspired, irresistible foods. If you are not acquainted with all of these companies, you may be familiar with other Colorado names including Hammond's Candies, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, Larabar, and Too Haute Cowgirls. colorado holiday eco food giftPerhaps I'm a bit of a foodie, but if the mountains don't draw new citizens in, I would imagine that companies similar to these would entice people to relocate to Colorado. Oh, and did I include that there are over 120 breweries in the state? Colorado has been referred to as the Napa Valley of the beer world. What more can I say? our state is wonderful! If I have succeeded in wetting your appetite and you're now itching for Colorado made food and beer why not purchase a Eco Gift Bag Colorado from us and try some for yourself. Save the environment with our Colorado Eco-Friendly Green Gift Bags. Eco-bags come in a variety of price ranges. Choose a gift that isn't in a basket or a box but instead a 100% recycled reusable non-woven bag with our own Colorado logo design. Perhaps if you try one of our baskets and love the food enough, you too will possibly consider moving to the centennial state. Like this blog? Sugar and Spice, My Holiday Vice

Is it just me, or are Americans infatuated with seasonal flavors? Consider pumpkin spice for example. Towards the end of summer cafes start to offer their pumpkin spice lattes, pumpkin cheesecake returns to the dessert menus at diners, and full-bodied beers are released on tap and in liquor stores. I guess there is something about these flavors that moves us into the holiday mood. Other tastes that become more fashionable are apple, caramel, cinnamon, peppermint, and gingerbread, to name a few. Perhaps there is something special about saving these vibrant, pleasant flavors for this season. It gives us something to count on as the weather gets colder and we begin to spend more time at home. Have you ever considered where these flavors came from? Consider cinnamon for example... Cinnamon is native to Sri Lanka, previously known as Ceylon and can be linked back to 2800 B.C. Through history, this spice was so strongly cherished that wars have been fought over it! Used as a sort of money, medicine, for embalming (peculiar, eh?), and an aphrodisiac, cinnamon has been highly valued all over the earth throughout human history. That will give you something to consider the next time you bite into a cinnamon roll! At the beginning of each holiday season I cannot wait to stuff myself full of some seasonal treats for instance a peppermint mocha (though I prefer mine with white chocolate) or a bite of apple crumble. Another of my favorites is gingerbread cake with cream cheese frosting. YUM! I am salivating just writing about this! What if this holiday season you could deliver someone the perfect gift of all of these flavors? chocolate christmas gift basketIf you know someone who might need a little holiday cheer, mail them a Chocolate Christmas Gift Basket from Baskets By Rita. Thanksgiving Truth In Gifts

Ever since the 19th century, US citizens have commemorated Thanksgiving by duplicating the concept of the pilgrims and the Indians sitting down together for a pleasant feast. As lovely as this concept of friendship might be, it is not true. The record of pilgrims and Indians was one of unwelcome amity. while the Indians furnished the pilgrims with food and expertise to stay alive their first winter the pilgrims gave thanks to them by declaring war and striking them. Even though this is not what we want to picture as we get together to celebrate with our loved ones, maybe it creates a new perspective to the holiday. The pilgrims were greedy and immoral. They took from the Indians and repaid them in the most severe ways possible. Perhaps instead of imitating the idealistic idea of the pilgrims and Indians as companions each Thanksgiving, we should contemplate on the disloyalty the Indians encountered at the hands of their "friends" the pilgrims. Now I don't mean to imply that Thanksgiving should be a formal day of reproach and retrospection, but perhaps we should take the occasion to consider our own relationships. Of all the things we offer thanks for on Thanksgiving, the many people we cherish should be at the very top. fall harvest basketsThanksgiving is not only a chance for us to share our many blessings with our loved ones, but to show our gratitude for their sincere friendship. This Thanksgiving you might contemplate offering a little something extra to express thanks. On the other hand it might be a sport injury and they will be well again in no time. I want to talk about the lighter side of get well where your present, words and actions all give joy, laughter and relaxation. There is lots of work being done with music therapy to help promote healing. Laughter has also been credited withlowering blood pressure and lowering stress levels. With all this in mind we should mainly think sending gifts to the ailing that have a fun get well theme. Funny get well gifts come in all types. Some take the word fun to the extreme without considering to the fact that fun or funny means entirely different things to different people. Luxury for The Ladies

Send a Pamper Package Month after month I waste a significant amount of money on salon and relaxation services. Every time I turn around I'm in need of another manicure, day at the salon, laser hair removal appointment, or waxing appointment. In addition to these forms of beauty remedies, everyday stress pushes me to splurge for bimonthly massage therapy and chiropractor visits and the occasional hot bath. Without doubt the cost of makeup and various other pamper products raise the expense as well. At month's end I've spent the contents of my checking account simply to maintain myself. Speak of stress! Several months ago I started to consider ways to reduce these payments without making too many sacrifices. spa gift basketI now purchase waxing strips, paint my own fingernails (most of the time), and have signed my boyfriend up for massage lessons. Give the Gift of Gourmet Bliss

In most cultures around the globe, Christmas is an occasion to indulge. Nations around the globe enjoy Christmas as an occasion for luxurious indulgence. As the principal commercial holiday of the year, stores start distributing Christmas products and playing the Jingle Bell songs as soon as Thanksgiving is over and sometimes earlier! Major department stores for example Sachs Fifth Avenue and Macy's put up brilliant window displays illustrating signs of Christmas in a fantastic display of glitter, snow, and red and green striped candy canes. Even countries like Japan, which is not accepted as a Christian country, take on the holiday spirit and load up on gifts for the Christmas season. I guess the spirit of giving is irresistible even when separated from its religious origins. The spirit of indulgence which Christmas brings upon us is not only extended to the gifts we give, but it branches out to encompass the décor we see all around town and best of all, the food we love! Have you ever driven through neighborhoods at night just to gaze at all of the Christmas lights on front lawns and roof tops? And how many times have you given yourself a stomach ache with all the Christmas sweets you ate at the holiday cookie exchange? These Christmas traditions are developed over the years in order to give us something to look forward to in the dead of winter. Christmas is a time to commemorate life. In a religious context, Christmas is a celebration of the birth of God's son on Earth, Jesus Christ. Even individuals who are not Christian have adopted Christmas for the spirit of togetherness it conveys to friends and families. Christmas is a time for gourmet living as I have said before. Everything from the dishes you eat to the decorations you put up to the presents you give reflects the essence of the holiday, but they are not cheap. In hard economic times, we find individuals cutting back on their Christmas spending and making crucial sacrifices to save money. Some people choose to get a fake tree to save themselves the price of buying a new one year after year. Others buy energy efficient Christmas lights so they will have a smaller energy bill at the end of the season. And some people choose to relinquish buying the ready made honey baked ham and to roast a chicken at home instead. goumet holiday gift basketNo matter how your family prefers to save money this Christmas, there is no reason why you should have to cut down on your gift giving just to make ends meet. At Baskets By Rita, we are committed to giving you the most for your money. Not only do our baskets ship worldwide, but they have the lavish appearance you want to communicate your wishes for a gourmet Christmas. Filled with gourmet treats of all sorts varying from wine to chocolate to cheese and crackers, our baskets invite their recipients to indulge. Let's Give Thanks

As the leaves begin to turn and slip from the branches and the air chills warning of the coming of winter, we put aside our shorts and tank tops and get out our scarves and boots. While the cold drop in temperature may be a welcome change from the sizzle of summer, it also reminds us that the days are becoming shorter and we will be spending much more time indoors hibernating. Some folks consider fall their favorite season and it does present many opportunities for celebration and a chance for us to spend time with friends and family as we seek shelter indoors and find ways to occupy ourselves and keep our spirits high. When we think of fall we think of pumpkins, turkeys, red, orange, and yellow leaves, and harvest festivals. As the organic world dies for the months of cold ahead, we cherish life in hopes that we may continue to be blessed in the days to come. We celebrate the gifts of the harvest and give thanks for our many blessings. Putting aside the holidays and weekend excursions of summer, we ready ourselves for a drearier onset of winter by making joy in a time when it is more difficult to find in our surroundings. The winter months are known as the 'holidays,' but the holidays really begin with Halloween and Thanksgiving, traditions which have been around for hundreds of years which allow us to gather with friends and find joy in life. Earth Friendly gift Giving

Let's give consideration to ways to be eco-friendly for the holiday this season. Everyone is atempting to get on the band wagon of going green. Not only is it very good for the economy but it is also perfect for the pocket book. In these years of economic downturn and this eco mind set let's take a look at various ways to be friendly and save money. Buy a live tree or possibly a artificial Christmas tree. Live trees can be planted and appreciated for years. If you don't have a yard for planting one then get an artificial one you can use each year. If you put up Christmas lights purchase led lights if you can afford it. If not, then be sure to have your lights on a timer and only run them from sunset until you go to bed. No need lighting up the darkness when no one is out to get pleasure from them. Wrap your gifts it recycled paper and decorate gifts with previously used ribbon and sparkles. You can also do what we have done for years, and wrap your presents in handmade fabric bags that can used year after year. The disadvantage of these bags is that they are easy to open so someone might possibly peek if they truly wanted to. Choose greeting card printed on recycled paper. You could very well even not bother with the post office this year and send e-card in its place. Avoid the shopping at malls this year. Spending hours trying hard to find the perfect gift wastes tremendous amounts of time and money. You can go shopping online and still buy from local companies as well. Think about products that you trust they will use, need and enjoy. Everyone enjoys yummy food and everyone needs to eat so think about giving a Colorado food gift. Now take this just a bit further and take a look at a gourmet food gift that comes in an Earth-friendly recycled reusable shopping bag. colorado eco bagsSpring Eco Friendly Gift Spring Eco Friendly Gift filled with Colorado treats. Harvest Time 2011

Now that we are half way through the summer months, we start to look forward to the fall. With the changing of the leaves, the chilling of the air, and the shortening of the days, we are reminded of the coming of winter and the end of a new year. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Autumn itself has many of its own merits. For thousands of years, autumn has been the time of year to celebrate the harvest and the gift of food. representations such as pumpkins, gourds, and brightly colored leaves are traditional in the United States as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day and Halloween. As the days get shorter and cooler, we draw our attention from the bleakness of the season and distract ourselves with celebrations of friends, family and food, reflecting on the things we're thankful for. Wouldn't it be nice to show up to Thanksgiving Dinner this year with a little something more than the conventional salad or loaf of bread to share? Or how would you like to surprise your distant relatives with a seasonal treat that says "I'm thinking of you and I'm thankful to have you in my life.halloween gift basket" Baskets By Rita has the perfect gift to share around the table or to send to those valued business partners you love in this time of thanks. Thanks A Bunch

It would appear as if the custom of giving thanks has become obsolete over time. Mailing a hand written thank you note was at one time traditional for both personal and business situations, but now many people assume it's enough to nonchalantly whip up an email with a prompt thanks before retreating to their active every day lives. Now don't misunderstand me. I understand that the world is much more fast paced than it once was and many people barely have time to relax and catch their breath, but thinking about it, that only gives you that much more reason to send a heart felt thank you. Since we've become less accustomed to receiving a suitable thank you, it makes a much greater impression when we do get one. It truly is a nice surprise to see that someone bothered to say thanks. I haven't even mentioned the effect it can make on your business. In taking the time to send a personalized thank you, you may express to your customer how important their business is to you. By developing personal relationships with your clients, you are guaranteeing their loyalty and giving them a reason to do business with you instead of your competitors. If I haven't managed to convinced you that sending a thank you gift or note is worth the time it takes, why don't you consider sending something that takes little to no time at all? Sending flowers or a gift basket from an online store takes about as long as sending an email, but sends a much better impression. Gift like Thank You Gift Basket Here's a thank you gift basket that will bring smiles to anyone you send it to. thank you giftsA red faux leather and sea grass basket will make a great impression. Say thanks for all you do when you send this useful high quality basket filled with great tasting goodies. We add our Colorado medley snack mix, Boulder chips, Mrs. Fields chocolate chip cookies, caramel corn, thank you shortbread cookies, chocolate bar, Lara fruit and nut bar, and Ghirardelli chocolate squares to this basket. This appreciation gift basket is perfect any time you want to say thanks. Forget all excuses and exercise some good old fashioned courtesy the next time you have the opportunity to say thank you. A Little Support To Grow By

It's an fascinating feeling when for the first time in your life, you know what it's like to be poor and cheap. I've become totally used to this lifestyle over the past three years and although it's not convenient, I've learned some useful lessons from it. I've learned what it feels like to live with barely enough money. I've learned what it's like to not be able to manage the most basic things such as groceries, gas, a cup of coffee in the morning, or even a bus ride. I've learned to take charity from others with the hope that one day I can pay them back or pay it forward. I've learned how to stretch a dollar as far as it can possibly go. And last but not least, I've learned how fabulous it feels to receive a Bath Gift Basket package, no matter what's inside it, from people who cares about you. A bath gifts baskets for a woman filled with high quality bath gel, body scrub, lotion and more. Perfect gift for a woman. Pamper her gifts for a her birthday. Bath basket with high quality soap, lotions, candles in our bath gift bath basket, gift basket for a woman, soap basket As you may have already guessed, I am a college student. Although we students have a reputation for partying, most of my friends and I work hard to play hard. We go to school full time, work one to two jobs, and try to earn enough money to pay the bills and still go out and forget some of the pressure of our day to day lives. I remember when I first moved away from home, my mom took me clothes shopping and I told her that would be the last time she would ever need to buy me clothes. I was certain that I would become thoroughly independent over night and somehow work hard enough to maintain the same level of affluence that I had become used to. My mom recognized how wrong I was, but I didn't come to realize the truth until eight months later. bath gift basketMy mom phoned me up and asked me if she could take me out shopping. I hadn't asked her for any support, but somehow, as is general with mothers, she just knew. I concluded that no matter how desperately I wanted to be self-sufficient, I could not turn down her offer, so I thanked her profusely and we went shopping a few days later. When I moved away to Rhode Island a year ago, I was definitely completely on my own for the very first time. I was somewhat scared, I missed my friends and family, and I was working every single day but still living from pay check to pay check. One day a gift box arrived from. It was stuffed full of baked goods, fruit and nut bars, assorted nuts, coffee, chocolate, and all sorts of other snacks. The gift was from my mom and dad to say they loved me and missed me. The surprise of getting something from my family put a smile on my face that lasted during the entire day. It's amazing what a modest but thoughtful gesture can do to pick you up when you're having difficulties to get by. http://www.basketsbyrita.com http://www.basketsbyrita.com/Bath-Gift-Basket_p_89.html

Welcome Presents from home

Presents from home Gifts When I was a young girl my parents would send me off to camp for the summer. The one thing I looked forward to more than letters from home was a care package from my parents. Some campers got a care package each week packed with junk food, random stuff that would make us laugh, and pictures. Even though I did not receive a package every week like some of the luckier campers, I valued the packages I got more because they were more unexpected and much better made. Since my mother owns a gift basket business, my care packages were never casually tossed into a cardboard box, but instead were presented in a beautiful basket wrapped in bows. Not only was the appearance exceptional, but my mom's company has access to products which you can't buy off the shelves in your local discount store. My packages were filled to the top with gourmet delights including obscure brands of fruit and nut bars, cookies and biscuits, all the best chocolates, rum balls, and snack mixes. I would always share my baskets with my friends and for years after, my camp friends would ask me where my mom had found specific delicacies that they had only ever found in the contents of my camp care packages. Two months ago I moved across the country for school after twenty one years of living nearby my parents. Although real homesickness hasn't set in yet, it has been hard being apart from my friends and family and there are times which are harder than others. A week or so ago I was delivered a surprise package. gourmet comfort gift basketI tore the box open to find a gift basket much like the ones my mom used to send me at camp. It included 'energy' jelly beans, fruit and nut mix, gourmet chocolate bars and cookies, some of the best granola bars I've ever eaten in my life, and my bike bell which I had left behind at my parents' house. It was the most welcome taste of home I could have hoped for and it reminded me that no matter how far from home you are, your family is always there to think of you. It was the best surprise I've had in a while and it reminded me that my family is proud of my endeavors and ambitions. As you get ready to send your student back to school this school year, think of the little things you can do to remind them that you care for them. Visit Baskets By Rita's website to see our assortment of care packages including our Gourmet Comfort Food Basket which is the perfect gift for you to tell your student how proud you are of them. June Dad's Day

I can't believe that Father's Day has officially only been around since 1972. It took 4 presidents and a Maine senator to eventually make it an official holiday. Mother’s Day had been around for roughly 60 years by then. Sonora Smart was the first person to recommend Father’s Day to honor her Father who was left to raise his 6 children when his wife died giving birth to their 6th child. It was then recommended to complement Mother’s day in celebrating fatherhood and male parenting. Nowadays Father's Day is celebrated on a range of dates around the globe and typically involves giving gifts, amazing dinners to dads, and family-focused activities. To help in support of Father’s day young members of the YMCA went to church sporting a rose: a red rose to honor a living father, and a white rose to celebrate a deceased one. Perhaps surprisingly enough Father's Day was at risk of disappearing from the calendar while Mother's Day was met with excitement, Father's Day was often met with snickering. Not all dads are exactly alike! OK, so you’re thinking what in the world can I obtain my dad for Father’s day? I don’t live at home any more and have no idea what he wants. You aren’t really considering purchasing a gift card to Lowe’s or Home Depot are you? That’s about as personal as a another wool sweater. bv red wine gift basketou may not live at home any more, but you probably have a good idea of what your father enjoys – is he a beer fan? A chocolate lover? How about a wine fan? I’ve found out that on the web there are a lot of gift that men would definitely like for a present that are not difficult to order. I know, maybe you always thought “baskets” were for women, but once you take a look at a beer tub, you will have a new opinion. If your dad’s personal preferences are for wine, you’ll notice that they can be shipped not only a fine wine of your choice, but also a very good set of complementary foods that make a very nice package. These gift baskets for a father would be the perfect gift for dear old dad on Fathers day. So let’s say your dad is a soda drinker and he is also a big nut fan. All you need to do is order BV Cabernet Red Wine Gift Basket for a guy that fits the bill. The most important part of the whole gift is your message on the card attached so be heart-felt. Some on-line gift baskets companies will even custom design that gift basket to really fit your dad’s desires. http://www.basketsbyrita.com http://www.basketsbyrita.com/BV-Cabernet-Red-Wine-Gift-Basket_p_133.html http://www.twitter.com/basketsbyrita http://www.facebook.com/basketsbyrita

Send An At home spa treatment

A full week of work and courses leaves me ready to take a load off and take it easy when the weekend comes. But we all know that the probability of me planning a weekend full of spa like treatment and peace and quiet is hardly probable. Though I’m not working I always end up with a number of errands that’s piled up throughout the week, a house to clean, and a variety of other miscellaneous tasks that slip themselves into my schedule somehow. While I might be able to talk someone into giving me a five minute back rub, I doubt I’ll have time for a facial and a bubble bath. In our world where we live such hectic lives, it is close to impossible to steal away for an hour or two let alone a full day to just put aside our busy lives and take a little ‘me’ time. Where I can possibly schedule in a chiropractor’s appointment or a waxing appointment once a month, it’s not quite enough to make me feel that I’ve completely pampered myself. When an occasion or a birthday comes around and someone asks me what I want, the first thing that comes to mind is “gift cards” or “a new pair of scissors.” Even though these might be reasonable presents, they are necessities and giving these essentials doesn’t require much thought. A gift should be something you want, not a thing you need. At times we forget our own value and we need a friend to step in and remind us to spend some time on our self. A gift should persuade you to take care of yourself, not help you run yourself further into the ground. survival gift basketEven though I can say I wouldn’t have much spare time to make a spa appointment even if I was given a gift card, I know a few home remedies that will do the trick almost as well. Pamper Graduation Gift Baskets

Graduation Gift Baskets Graduation is a major life affair for anyone. Whether graduating from associate's program or obtaining a doctorate, graduation is an achievement worth commemorating. In the United States, achieving 57% of the populace between the ages of 3 and 34 are registered in some type of instruction. Whether attending cosmotology school, medical school, or high school, these people are taking steps toward a brighter future. Of this 57%, only some will truly graduate from high school and then of course postsecondary institutions as well. In 2009, 8.1% of High School Students dropped out of class before graduating. Of those who had commenced as Freshman in the class of 2006, approximately 75% graduated. When observing Postsecondary Schools, the percentage of individuals who graduate are even smaller. In 2001, 38% of worthy students of 2 year establishments graduated along with 65% from 4 year establishments. This proves that it takes much work and dedication to complete an education and this is why we should recognize those who see it through. My friend recently tranferred from Rhode Island to Colorado to finish his education half way across the country. He is lucky enough to attend a university with several campuses nationwide which allows him to transfer his credits freely from one campus to another. He did not move because he was unhappy with the campus in Rhode Island or in order to find a new social scene. His sole reason for moving to Colorado was so that his family in California could be resent for his graduation ceremony. My friend is from a large Mexican family and he is the first among them to graduate from university. For his family this means there will be a huge party that may last several days. He will not only be surrounded by loved ones and lots of great food, but he can look forward to the kindness of gifts. Gift giving is an important part of any graduation celebration, because it gives family and friends an opportunity to convey to the graduate that they are proud of them. Giving gifts is a way of showing that you support what the graduate is doing for their self as they arrange for their future. As the graduation season approaches, remember the value of the words “Congratulations!” Whether said with money, expensive presents for a future career, or a custom made Candle and Bath Gift Basket, recognition for a job well done means just as much as the self satisfaction a graduate gets from their accomplishment. This gift basket has a high quality Soy candle and Spa quality bath products that will impress and delight that special someone. Whether you know someone who is graduating from high school, college, or university; whether they are graduating with their associates, bachelors, masters, or doctorate degree; or whether they are attending some other sort of postsecondary institution be it medical school, a cosmotology program, or an industry apprenticeship; they have earned recognition for what they have achieved. our candle and bath gift basket is a little bit candle basket and a little bit bath gift basket making a perfect combination for relaxation and rejuvenation. Say Cheese

For well over 4,000 years, maybe longer, cheese has been a staple in peoples’ diets worldwide.. No one knows precisely how the invention of cheese came about, but since its invention, it has been a favorite food in many cultures. In the U.S.A. we have states, such as Wisconsin, which take their cheese so seriously. Cheese comes in many different assortments of shapes, colors, and sizes from Parmesan to Romano to Muenster to Swiss to Brie, you get the idea. Cheese is a thing that is often craved, practically like chocolate. If chocolate and cheese are a couple of your favorite foods, consider a meal of cheese fondue followed by chocolate fondue. Some people even take their cheese fixation along with them when they travel. Many parts of the world are known by the foods they produce. Cheese is one of those foods that can put a place on the map. When you journey, along with wine tasting, which is a well-liked experience for the leisurely vacationer, try hunting for cheese tastings along the way as well. What is a Useful Mothers Day Gifts

Mother’s Day as we know it is a sort of recent holiday, though it isn't a “Hallmark holiday” established to sell more cards. There are a number of Mothering day or Mom-focused holidays in history which includes Mothering Day in the UK, Cybele in ancient Greece, or Mothering Sunday in much of Europe. Mother’s Day was developed by Anna Jarvis in 1912. Mother’s day was especially chosen to be a singular possessive meaning it was meant for each family to honor their mother, not plural possessive that would be used to remember all the mothers of the world. Following congressional approval, It was officially recognized on May 9, 1914 when president Woodrow Wilson made the official announcement proclaiming Mother’s day as a national holiday to be held on the 2nd Sunday of May. Mother’s Day has ultimately been adopted by many other countries and cultures. In many cases, the date was changed to fit existing celebrations or to concur with a significant date which are for the most part religious. Consequently, Mother’s Day is celebrated in February in Norway and on December 22nd in Indonesia, with a number of other dates in between celebrated by other people. One of the practices of Mother’s Day is to give your mom a present along with good wishes as a way to show your respect to her. If you live near by (and are seeing your mom regularly!) you probably have a good idea what to get her. However, those of us that don’t live close can be at a complete loss. Consider the activities Mom looks forward to a perhaps send her a surprise with that theme. Gift baskets are excellent when it comes to gifts with a theme. If your mom plays golf there are golf themed baskets. Maybe she is into tea and relaxation then buy a nice tea baskets or a relaxing pamper gift basket. Maybe she likes fine wine and you know she likes red wine or white wine or even champagne. chocolate lovers gifts basketsThere are many great wine gift baskets to choose from that showcase wine which would make a wonderful mothers day basket. The options are many and what a gift baskets does, is give you a nice assortment of goodies that she will take pleasure in with the theme she will appreciate. Rather than sending clothes yet again this year, you might possibly consider a All Chocolate Gift Basket. All chocolate gift baskets have a nice assortment of chocolate goodies that are oh so delicious. With milk chocolate covered pretzels, a bag of Ghirardelli chocolates, chocolate chip cookies, fudgey fresh baked brownie, Chocolove bar, Godiva chocolate bar, Patsy's chocolate bar, small Chocolove bar, Turtle chocolates, chocolate orange sticks and espresso dark chocolate cups. Another thing to think about here is the useful factor. What I mean by this is many of the gifts that you give your Mother are either unneeded or something she will never us. So, consider something green, useful and best of all reusable. The green and reusable is the present holder which could be a reusable basket or best of all a 100% recycled reusable shopping bag. The useful is the great gourmet foods or the high quality lotions and soaps in the basket. Why not send her something different and remarkable this Mother’s day! Even if you live far away or right down the street these gifts can be delivered. Happy Mother’s Day! All chocolate gift baskets for the chocolate lover. Ah, Why Not Say Thank You!

Thank You! It would appear as though the custom of giving thanks has disappeared over time. Sending a personalized thank you note was once habitual for both personal and business circumstances, but now the majority of people presume it's enough to offhandedly whip up an email with a quick "thanks" before getting back to their active day to day lives. Now don't take this the wrong way. I realize that the world is more fast paced than it was at one time and many people barely have time to sit and catch their breath, but if you think about it, that only gives you that much more reason to send a sincere thanks. Seeing as how we've become less accustomed to getting a formal thank you, it makes a much greater impact when we do receive one. It certainly is a lovely surprise to see that someone took the effort to say "thanks." I haven’t even mentioned the effect it can make on your business. In taking a second to give a personalized thank you, you can express to your customer how valuable their business is to you. By developing personal friendships with your customers, you are guaranteeing their confidence and giving them a reason to do business with you as opposed to your competition. If I still haven’t convinced you that sending a thank you gift or note is worth the effort, why not think about sending something that takes little to no time at all? Sending flowers or a gift basket from an online source takes about as long as sending an email, yet gives a much better impression. godiva treats gift basketGift like Godiva Treats Basket Do you want to say thank you? Easter today Compared to 100 years ago

The resurrection of Christ is what Easter is all about also making it the ultimate essential of all Christian holy days. However, at this time the meaning of the holiday is covered by decorated eggs and bunnies. Easter can fall at any time between March 22 and April 25 since is occurs the first Sunday following the full moon. Easter is also connected to the Jewish Passover in symbolism and it’s location in the calendar. What’s with Bunnies and eggs and Easter? Well the bunny is a well know sexual image of fertility. Religions associated with Babel relate the rabbit with periodicity, both human and lunar. The Mother Goddess Semiramis (Easter) is related with the moon. Therefore, the Easter rabbit symbolizes the Mother Goddess and is related with once a year Spring time fertility rituals worshiping the Mother Goddess. Colored Easter eggs are a part of the festivities too that came from the egg which was a sanctified symbol among the Babylonians. easter wine gift basketThey assumed that a amazing size egg plummeted from heaven into the Euphrates River from which the Goddess Semiramis was born. It makes you wonder how many of us actually think about the true meaning of this holiday apart from the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It has developed to be another retail holiday and over commercialized. However, it is a time for families to come together and observe the day. Kids love Easter for the presents, candy and most of all the egg hunting which could be enjoyed by the adults as well. Family member that are far away many times send Easter Wine Gift Basket to their loved ones. Grandparents send Filled Easter baskets for children to grandchildren. Daughter and sons ship Family Easter Basket to parents and sisters and brothers far away. Our Easter Wine Gift baskets includes Rodney Strong Merlot wine along with an assortment of gourmet munchies including: Wine-flavored cheese, crackers, chocolate Easter Bunny, beef summer sausage, gourmet cookies, nuts, and more. This Red wine gift baskets will make a great Easter Basket gift to send to family far away.  http://www.basketsbyrita.com/Easter-Gifts_c_40.html

Survival Gift To Support CPA and Students

Survival Gift To Support If you know a Tax accountant, CPA, lawyer or a undergraduate student, you may be aware of the stresses they bear this time of year. Preparing for and cranking through reams of paperwork or studying for midterms, finals, or that big test can seriously take it out of anyone. You frequently can’t be there to help them, but want to demonstrate to them that you are thinking of them. We don't want you to have to stress out trying to discover something to reduce their stress, so we have a few ideas. These are quick to choose and effortless to order if you feel it’s appropriate for your situation. These items are organized in two buckets – first items to help someone survive the peak period. These are usually caffeine and chocolate rich items that will help keep them going. Second are items to help them wind down. One thing busy people can always use is a few munchies to hold them over until their next meal or to help them with their “all nighter”. Baskets by Rita has a couple of recommendable ideas for gifts that can help that student, lawyer or CPA during those long nites. For the caffeine addicted night owl, there’s the Chocolate and Coffee basket that puts together assorted chocolates with Starbucks frappuchino and coffees. Here are two tastes they will enjoy and keep things cranking into the wee hours. If they don't enjoy coffees but could still use a bit of caffeine, a stress relief basket may be in order. This basket includes a can of Red Bull with a decent variety of munchies. They also get a stress ball to squeeze when a client (or professor) is being particularly difficult. The survival gift basket is another fine choice. It contains caffeine both in the Monster drink as well as the frappuccino. It also contains a wonderful mix of easy to estress relief gift basketsat munchies to sustain them.  OK, so much for the caffeine injected choices. You can really help them relax after a exhausting session. If caffeine is the last thing they should have, you might consider something to help them relax after a stressful day. Our first option is focused on the hard-working woman. A nice choice for relaxation is the Luxury Spa Gift Basket. This comes in a galvanized metal tub filled with lotions, scrubs, soaps and even a relaxing CD. This is undoubtedly the most romantic choice on this list. A gift that will relieve the overstressed frantic people in your life is a gift indeed.
