Live trees can be planted and appreciated for years. If you don't have a yard for planting one then get an artificial one you can use each year. If you put up Christmas lights purchase led lights if you can afford it. If not, then be sure to have your lights on a timer and only run them from sunset until you go to bed. No need lighting up the darkness when no one is out to get pleasure from them. Wrap your gifts it recycled paper and decorate gifts with previously used ribbon and sparkles. You can also do what we have done for years, and wrap your presents in handmade fabric bags that can used year after year. The disadvantage of these bags is that they are easy to open so someone might possibly peek if they truly wanted to. Choose greeting card printed on recycled paper. You could very well even not bother with the post office this year and send e-card in its place. Avoid the shopping at malls this year. Spending hours trying hard to find the perfect gift wastes tremendous amounts of time and money. You can go shopping online and still buy from local companies as well. Think about products that you trust they will use, need and enjoy. Everyone enjoys yummy food and everyone needs to eat so think about giving a Colorado food gift. Harvest Time 2011
Now that we are half way through the summer months, we start to look forward to the fall. With the changing of the leaves, the chilling of the air, and the shortening of the days, we are reminded of the coming of winter and the end of a new year. But let's not get too far ahead of ourselves. Autumn itself has many of its own merits. For thousands of years, autumn has been the time of year to celebrate the harvest and the gift of food. representations such as pumpkins, gourds, and brightly colored leaves are traditional in the United States as we celebrate Thanksgiving Day and Halloween. As the days get shorter and cooler, we draw our attention from the bleakness of the season and distract ourselves with celebrations of friends, family and food, reflecting on the things we're thankful for. Wouldn't it be nice to show up to Thanksgiving Dinner this year with a little something more than the conventional salad or loaf of bread to share? It would appear as if the custom of giving thanks has become obsolete over time. Mailing a hand written thank you note was at one time traditional for both personal and business situations, but now many people assume it's enough to nonchalantly whip up an email with a prompt thanks before retreating to their active every day lives. Now don't misunderstand me. I understand that the world is much more fast paced than it once was and many people barely have time to relax and catch their breath, but thinking about it, that only gives you that much more reason to send a heart felt thank you. Since we've become less accustomed to receiving a suitable thank you, it makes a much greater impression when we do get one. It truly is a nice surprise to see that someone bothered to say thanks. I haven't even mentioned the effect it can make on your business. In taking the time to send a personalized thank you, you may express to your customer how important their business is to you. By developing personal relationships with your clients, you are guaranteeing their loyalty and giving them a reason to do business with you instead of your competitors. If I haven't managed to convinced you that sending a thank you gift or note is worth the time it takes, why don't you consider sending something that takes little to no time at all? A Little Support To Grow By
It's an fascinating feeling when for the first time in your life, you know what it's like to be poor and cheap. I've become totally used to this lifestyle over the past three years and although it's not convenient, I've learned some useful lessons from it. I've learned what it feels like to live with barely enough money. I've learned what it's like to not be able to manage the most basic things such as groceries, gas, a cup of coffee in the morning, or even a bus ride. I've learned to take charity from others with the hope that one day I can pay them back or pay it forward. I've learned how to stretch a dollar as far as it can possibly go. Welcome Presents from home
Presents from home Gifts When I was a young girl my parents would send me off to camp for the summer. The one thing I looked forward to more than letters from home was a care package from my parents. Some campers got a care package each week packed with junk food, random stuff that would make us laugh, and pictures. Even though I did not receive a package every week like some of the luckier campers, I valued the packages I got more because they were more unexpected and much better made. Since my mother owns a gift basket business, my care packages were never casually tossed into a cardboard box, but instead were presented in a beautiful basket wrapped in bows. Not only was the appearance exceptional, but my mom's company has access to products which you can't buy off the shelves in your local discount store. My packages were filled to the top with gourmet delights including obscure brands of fruit and nut bars, cookies and biscuits, all the best chocolates, rum balls, and snack mixes. I would always share my baskets with my friends and for years after, my camp friends would ask me where my mom had found specific delicacies that they had only ever found in the contents of my camp care packages. Two months ago I moved across the country for school after twenty one years of living nearby my parents. Although real homesickness hasn't set in yet, it has been hard being apart from my friends and family and there are times which are harder than others. A week or so ago I was delivered a surprise package.
